Synopsis

I first had the idea to write this book when I was a child. When there were disputes of any kind, one of my siblings would invariably say "Well, look it up in the rule book!" There was no rule book. So I wrote one. I first wrote this book sometime around 1990, and distributed it to my family members via email. I would print out copies for friends when they would go on vacation. My brother had the printing shop at his workplace print up a number of copies in 1993. I have been distributing signed copies over the years, and still have a handful left from the original printing. When I found a way to put the book online, I did so, in 2006. I revised it in 2009. Since I only sold a few copies through that venue, I took the book offline, and have been sitting on it since. I have been sad because an entire generation of people have been missing out on playing these games, because I couldn’t afford the publishing costs. This handy little book of travel games is proven to keep people of all ages occupied and laughing while on extended drives. Especially for the internetally disinclined. A little about the cover photos: I decided I wanted a picture of cows grazing in a field, to put on the front cover of this book, so my boyfriend and I went for a drive through the Colorado countryside. I drove for two hours before we found any cows to take photos of. We found these cows, and started taking pictures, when we looked up and noticed what was above our heads. There were the most wonderful lenticular clouds above the whole scene! So we made sure to get some photos of the cows and the clouds. This one was the best. And Eric just happened to have taken it, while I nagged him on what to take photos of. The photo on the back cover is one Eric took when we went out to take photos of the eclipse sunset back in 2013. That's me, going out on a limb. ~Naomi Archer I can envision this book selling well from those little racks at the check-out stands of every truck-stop and tourist travel center worldwide!
