The 'Well of Death' looks at my life in India as a child and the harsh reality of how cheap life was. It takes the reader through my childhood covering what the West would classify as 'Difficult or Horrible' but what we classified as 'Normal'. It looks at the issues of our school days, including during the India Pakistan War of 1965. It then covers my departure from India to the UK to join HM Forces with my first posting being to Northern Ireland. It was there that I found out that life in Northern Ireland was indeed cheaper than back in India. Elements of my service in HM Forces is covered, and besides Northern Ireland, The Ten-Year Secret War in Dhofar and the Cyprus War of 1974 it looks at various other assignments, including Jungle Warfare training in Belize. It takes the reader through the various 'Job Options' that were available when I left the Forces including working as a Parachute Instructor, a Motor Bike stunt rider and riding the 'Well of Death' and jumping through the 'Hoop of Fire, a Flying Instructor, a Corporate Pilot and flying into places like Kosovo during the height of the war, a quick 'Job' in Africa, and finally my career as an Airline Pilot. Lastly it focuses on my retirement from the Airlines and how not to get bored by keeping active on the Skydiving front.
