Synopsis

A lively and often humorous voyage of personal discovery through 1960s London clubs and pubs, brought up-to-date when Alwyn Stevens (the author) is accosted by legendary musical genius Arthur Grimsby whose death had been reported thirty years previously. The mystery of his untimely death is unravelled as the two old musicians recall various adventures including a wild European rock tour, aborted amidst recriminations of scams and rip-offs. Alongside this is a tale set in the present day, interweaving fiction and autobiography together with factual elements. There is also an accompanying album of songs recorded by the author (free to download). However, no interest in music (especially acoustic blues and folk) is necessary to enjoy the book.
