Derrick Owings is a retired psychology teacher and poet who is extending his understanding of children as well as his writing creativity to books for children. His first book Shmoopy Moonpie Says Hi! starts a series about a guardian angel named Shmoopy Moonpie. He credits his grand-children for his soul of inspiration and dedicates his writing to them.
