Writing started as a hobby for Patsy M. Henry after her retirement in 2008. She found herself with time on her hands and lots of wonderful photos of her adorable bunnies. Gradually the idea took shape in her thoughts: thoughts of sharing what she had learned about taking care of her bunnies. Yes, that’s how it all began. From there, she began to share the bunny tales with children in area schools. It brought a smile to her face just to see the expression on the faces of the children. Her love of the telling inspired her to keep writing. Then something happened in 2017. Her interest was peeked by a contest that Kindle was hosting. The writing had to be at least 5,000 words and the only thing the author had written that met that requirement was a couple of chapters based on her aging parents. She submitted that and entered the contest. Needless to say, she did not win, but this opened another door. She was really inspired to write for adults, and that’s how “The Sharecropper’s Daughter” series came to be.
