Synopsis

The Book of Job has been one the favorites for any person of faith who has gone through great suffering. Countless Christians have been encouraged in their moments of sorrow and distress by the words of this writing. Job is an account about enduring crisis while nurturing a relationship with God. Find out why the apostle James wrote in 5:11, "We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful." Within the 50 pages are seven devotions. The first lesson is a poetic version of the text, written with the aid of up to twenty versions of the Bible. It is a paraphrased version designed to acquaint the reader with the account. The remaining six devotions, will focus on application to every day life. The topics from the Book of Job are the following: 1) The Long-suffering of a Christian, 2) The Protection of God, 3) Understanding Temptation, 4) Why bad things happen to good people, 5) The Interrogation of God and 6) The Restoration of the LORD.
