Excellent writing and communication skills are essential for scientific research—and yet, these skills are rarely trained, let alone mastered. The Guide helps researchers develop these abilities and become better writers and communicators. You will learn how to structure scientific papers and acquire a vigorous writing style for communicating results effectively. The book covers general rules for writing in science, as well as suggestions about style and language; it also contains an extensive collection of practical hints, examples, and exercises for practising your new skills. The guide also includes a discussion about non-academic writing styles and formats—i.e. blogs, media releases, popular science articles, etc.Indispensable for PhD students and Early Career Researchers, An Educated Guide to Scientific Writing is a useful reference for all scientists, regardless of their experience.
