Servants don't just happen. We are not born with a natural inclination to serve. We tend to want something repaid for our time and efforts. A young child does not just wake up one morning and say, "I think I am going to grow up and serve others." As a young boy, little does John Basham know, when he is called by God to serve, which path he will be led down, what horrors he will witness when his calling takes him to Africa. Nothing seems to make sense when he sees so much death an destruction around him. How does what he experiences there affect his relationship with God? What does it mean to serve HIM? What is God trying to teach John? "This book dares the reader to be faithful and brave enough to cross the street and cross the oceans as the hands, heart and voice of the Christ. The pilgrimage of the Basham Family mirrors for us what it means to meet Jesus on the road of faith." Dr. Nik Ripken, author of "The Insanity of God" and "The Insanity of Obedience." "A wonderful story of a life well lived in the service of God. It truly refreshes the soul." Rev. Robert May, Pastor of Herne Hill Baptist Church, London and Associate Lecturer at Spurgeon's College, London.
