Born in Brookline, MA, Nick De Bonis moved with his parents to his mother’s hometown of Waterloo, IA, when he was an infant. He began elementary school on the West Side, attended two others on the East Side, then went to Logan Junior High. He graduated from East High School in 1966, the 100th graduating class. His 30-year career in marketing combined the professional and academic worlds. He’s a global strategic customer value management consultant for more than 20 years and a business owner. De Bonis also taught marketing, advertising and communications at the university level for over 20 years. During this time, De Bonis has co-authored three industry books on Marketing and Management. He earned a B.A. from Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL, an M.S. from Troy State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He’s an Air Force (Vietnam, 1969) and Army veteran with an additional four years of service in the Air Force reserve and Florida Air National Guard. De Bonis is married to Susan, who has her doctorate in Communications from UT-Knoxville. They have grown two children, Andrew (Colleen) and Gabriela (Josh Frazier). And their two beautiful grandchildren, Cayden Jace Frazier (April 2014) and Joanna Kate Frazier (September 2018).
