Synopsis

At an archaeological dig five miles north of Rome at place called Fidenae, archaeologists, Doctor Mirasol Fonseca and Doctor Enrique Sacco hope to create a new field of archaeology using geological testing equipment to see under the earth to make discoveries without desecrating or disturbing what lies underneath. They hope to discover evidence of a city much older than Rome. Instead they find a buried lead sarcophagus completely intact. Upon its opening they find seven intact scrolls they believe were written by the first emperor of Rome, Caesar Augustus, as evidenced by his distinct seal. A team of the finest archaeologists is assembled to translate the words of the first emperor which becomes known as the Augustus Project. History is rewritten as the words of Augustus are revealed and the reader is transported back in time to first century B.C. Rome when chaos ruled and a man born Octavius defies all odds to become the first emperor of Rome
