From 1784-1788, East Tennessee went through an identity crisis that resulted in the formation of the Constitution of North Carolina, and several important details being added to the United States Constitution. Lead by figures like John Sevier, William Cocke, and Landon Carter, up-and-coming people like Andrew Jackson and "Davy" Crockett watched as the State of Franklin fought for independence, and was put down. This is that story.
