Synopsis

You and Ann have now been married for a year, and you both have twin girls: Natalie and Sarah. You’re now living in the house you bought in Ventimiglia on the Italian Riviera close to the French border. But you still have a share on the houseboat with Alain and Elodie, also on the Riviera, just down the hill from the house. The living room has paintings by Giorgio de Chirico on the wall, and a juke box that is a present from your kids, and a grand piano, and a stain-glass window custom made by local artisans. In the living room, you also have black and white women mannequins and a talking parakeet you call Homer, and salt-water fish aquariums. This is your nest. And oh, the twins have music boxes suspended above their cribs. You rotate these boxes once a week so the twins can listen to everything. You’ve made a few friends since you’ve been living here: Brian and Elodie and Brian and Rachel, who live up the hill in a house. The houseboat, your house, and Brian and Rachel’s house are about 200 meters from one another. Walking distance.
