Synopsis

A man can outrun almost anything on a fast bike, but he can't outrun a debt to the Devil. Thirty years ago, Jacob made a deal at the crossroads to save what he loved. Now, the debt is coming due, and the signs are everywhere: a "luck" that feels more like a curse, a hound with eyes that see too much, and the return of the "Skins," the Judge's personal enforcers.

As Jacob prepares for a final reckoning on his farm, a young investigator named Matt Pearce is drawn into a surreal hunt for a missing partner. Matt's search leads him into a world of "non-standard" contracts and blue-flamed guitars, where the music you play might just wake the dead—or the Devil himself.

From the blood-soaked history of John "Whitey" Barnett to the high-speed collision of lives at the crossroads, three stories weave together to reveal one dark truth: when you sell your soul, the Judge always gets his pound of flesh.

In the tradition of Sinners and Kevin Bacon's The Bondsman, Hard Place trades the crossroads myth for something rawer, and far more personal.

The gritty, supernatural journey that began in Hard Place continues in the upcoming sequel, Hell Bent. Coming soon from Deadcat Studio.
