Synopsis

Beside the Sickle Moon is a tale set in near future Palestine, exploring the complexities of apartheid through the eyes of Laeth Muhammad Awad, a Palestinian living above his convenience store. Alongside his cousin Aylul, Laeth discovers Israel's plans to build a luxury hotel in their village, igniting a struggle that plunges them into guerilla warfare. Aylul's belief in direct action leads them to form Al Mubarizun, a diverse resistance group, while Laeth grapples with existential questions alongside the Forgotten Ones—a movement advocating coexistence. Torn between ideologies, Laeth's journey reveals the intricate dynamics of loyalty, sacrifice, and identity in occupied land. Beside the Sickle Moon is a compelling narrative that challenges notions of resistance, offering readers a thought-provoking exploration of the human spirit amidst suffocating adversity.
