Initially trained as a lawyer, he shifted to journalism, covering significant events like the 1905 Russian Revolution. His vivid storytelling and investigative skills in journalism laid the groundwork for his later success as a novelist.In 1907, Leroux transitioned to fiction, publishing The Mystery of the Yellow Room, one of the earliest and most celebrated locked-room mysteries.
