Synopsis

The Moorland Heroes Series: twists on old favourites. Classic novels Jane Eyre and A Christmas Carol inspired these witty contemporary romances.

Love, forgiveness, and the magic of Christmas...

It's the time of peace on earth and goodwill to all men, but at Carroll's Confectionery Factory on the North York Moors, the meaning of Christmas seems to have been forgotten.

New boss, Kit Carroll, is hardly winning friends with his high-handed attitude, his foolhardy approach to production, and his tight-fisted treatment of the factory's employees.

Marley Jacobs, his self-styled PA, is determined to make him see the error of his ways, and return the festive spirit to Carroll's. Unfortunately, the little matter of their previous relationship and Kit's callous treatment of her when they were teenage sweethearts keeps getting in the way of her good intentions.

With encouragement from co-worker Don, romantic sister Olivia, and — astonishingly — the usually sceptical Great Uncle Charles, Marley decides to save this modern-day Mr Scrooge from himself, despite having no well-meaning ghosts to help her.

But revisiting the past doesn't just stir things up for Kit. As Marley struggles to deal with bittersweet memories, present-day events take a surprising turn.

Can the future be changed, after all?

And is it only Kit who needs saving?

"The best Christmas book I have ever read."
"How I love Sharon's humour which showed from the very beginning of the book."
"Sharon Booth’s writing just gets better and better…"

À propos de l'auteur

Sharon Booth writes uplifting women's fiction - love, laughter, and happy ever after. Happy endings are guaranteed for her main characters, though she likes to make them work for it. Sharon is a member of the Society of Authors, the Romantic Novelists' Association, and an Authorpreneur member of the Alliance of Independent Authors. She loves Yorkshire Tea, Doctor Who, and Cary Grant movies - not necessarily in that order. Sharon grew up in the East Riding of Yorkshire, and the Yorkshire coast and countryside feature strongly in her novels. Her stories are set in pretty villages and quirky market towns, by the sea or in the countryside, and feature lots of humour, romance and friendship. If you love gorgeous, kind heroes, and heroines who have far more important things on their minds than buying shoes, you'll love her books.
