Dear Chronic Illness features a collection of short letters written by young people, addressed to their long-term illnesses and impairments, detailing what they would like to say to them. The letters are not your typical sob stories, and provide a light-hearted and humorous commentary on the writers’ various experiences, yet they also give insight into the challenges of navigating life whilst learning to live with their conditions. Share your thoughts and join in the conversation by using the hashtag #DearChronicIllness

Pippa Stacey is a writer, blogger and fundraiser from Yorkshire. Previously a pre-professional ballet dancer, she became ill with a debilitating neurological condition during her teenage years. Her experiences led to her founding her own social enterprise, Spoonie Survival Kits, which strives to raise money for deserving causes, provide accessible volunteering opportunities, and to bring comfort to others that are struggling with similar conditions. Although living with a disabling illness has taken so much away from her, both adapting to life with a long-term condition and her fundraising and advocacy efforts have allowed Pippa to discover a love for writing. She now works in digital marketing and as a freelance writer, creating content for various purposes including charity campaigns and her own blog, Life Of Pippa. In the future, she would like to pursue more opportunities that allow her to normalise chronic illness and increase awareness of how the issues this population face can be addressed. Outside of writing, Pippa enjoys theatre and books, and is most likely to be found in her natural habitat: wearing pyjamas and drinking tea. She encourages anybody else with a long-term illness to share their story, and welcomes readers to get in touch with her if they would like advice on doing so.
