Reeling from the end of the Great War, the 1920s in Middlesbrough saw a period of rebuilding and rebirth. The Second World War would bring difficult times to the town, and with the decline in major industry, Middlesbrough s centre was changed forever.
Through subsequent decades, see how the town changed as the years passed. From the Victorian architecture now largely lost, and the repeated regeneration of the St Hilda's area, to the new shopping centres, businesses and institutions developed in the latter part of the 20th century.
Much of this book charts living memory for those who will recall the changes in the town, from the loss of much-loved landmarks to the construction of new buildings that have become a part of the landscape.

Middlesbrough today is undergoing more change, and this book also looks at some of the most recent developments and new buildings in the town.
Featuring hundreds of rare pictures and interesting details and memories from Middlesbrough resident and historian Araf Chohan, author of numerous books on the town.
