Synopsis

"Smart girls so rarely have any reason to be afraid." Nobody thinks Lee Petrova is smart. Fifteen years old and a beauty queen in nine different states, no one has ever spoken to her long enough to find out. They have put a hundred crowns on her head and they have buried her in sashes, but they have never called her smart. Then comes a day when all those quiet cruelties are drowned out by something very loud. Something brutal. Something lethal. It's a new version of the world and Lee finds herself stranded in it. And when the time comes, she'll do things nobody ever thought she was capable of to survive. Taint is a book about what happens when a smart girl decides not to be afraid anymore.

À propos de l?auteur

Jude Nicholas writes novels about the meaner side of the world. She has never had a blinding flash of inspiration. She puts stories together the way most people make patchwork quilts, out of scraps. She has one of those faces that makes strangers at bus stops tell her their life stories. She hates odd numbers and seagulls. She has never met a normal person and would therefore never write about one. She is prone to occasional panic attacks and the odd unprompted crisis. She blogs, at varying levels of profanity depending on the platform, about the experience of writing She has no idea what to put on an 'Author Bio' page.
