Synopsis

More and more of us are questioning the ‘system’. Why do we have to work in a job we don’t really enjoy for 40 years, constantly looking forward to a few measly weeks holiday a year amongst an ocean of stress? All for a modest salary and retirement when we are too tired to enjoy it. What a life! Freedom. That’s what has driven the author his whole life. Everything he has done, whether knowingly or not, was pushing or pulling him towards greater freedom. For him business offered that opportunity – a way to design his own destiny and create enough wealth so he could travel the world and help other entrepreneurs fulfil their own dreams. If your dreams of business success seem to be getting buried under an endless ‘to-do list’, or you find yourself working harder than you’ve ever worked but are still not seeing the financial rewards, if you’ve forgotten what your kids look like or feel trapped by your business then this book is for you. Even if you don’t have any intention to sell, it will provide important guidance and information that will help you run a successful organisation, ready for sale or ready to hand over to a management team should you want to. And that’s real freedom.

À propos de l?auteur

David Gowans is a proven entrepreneur with a successful business history. His purpose now is to help other entrepreneurs and business leaders across the world to build their business to a level where they can either sell or exit and enjoy freedom of time and money. Having already started a business from scratch, built it successfully and then sold it, David has an advantage over other Business Mentors who may only be working with theory. Under his leadership, his old company was polled as one of the fastest growing companies in the country and won business awards based on their excellent people development philosophies. David’s motto was to “reward those who do the work” and he firmly believed in incentivising staff to perform well, then they could share in the Company’s success. This worked well and proved very successful. So much so, that David retired from work way earlier than he could ever have imagined as a kid growing up in the tough streets of Glasgow. Now, his lifestyle is to travel to new countries, mostly by yacht, whilst working on new business ventures, and providing expert mentoring sessions to clients across the world. The Proof is in the Pudding Unlike many other coaches or mentors, David learned most things in business by actually being successful at them. The proof is in the pudding as they say, and being semi-retired at a young age is a fantastic achievement. David provides clients with real life experience and advice learned from his success in business, and how he managed to be free from life’s constraints way before his 40th birthday. Today, David’s main focus is to share this knowledge and advice. His purpose is to bring more awareness to people so that they can have the confidence and direction to make big changes in their lives. David believes that society puts too much pressure on people, builds fears and limiting the belief system of people at an early age. Then people seem to be trapped in this life cycle and generally live an unhealthy and stressful life, work until beyond pension age, and then at the end, they regret not taking action earlier in life. David’s mission is to help people question their current situation, and challenge them to have more belief that they can make big changes and make their world a better place.
