Etat : very good. Turnhout : Brepols, 1973. Paperback. 55 pp. (Typologie des sources du Moyen Âge occidental. A. Sources écrités. III : Sources juridiques. Fasc. 10). With supplement : G. Fransen. Mise à jour. Turnhout : Brepols, 1985. 10 pp. French text. - This work examines the compilation and transmission of canon law collections from Late Antiquity through the early Middle Ages. These collections, central to the legal life of the Church, are explored through two main categories: non-systematic and systematic. Non-systematic collections, including early compilations, Pseudo-Isidore, and post-Carolingian excerpts, are studied for their content, development, and historiographical challenges. Systematic collectionsstructured by themes, chapters, and rubricsare analyzed in terms of their editorial techniques, textual variants, and material presentation. Fransen pays particular attention to methods of critical textual analysis, such as identifying sources, comparing collections, and reconstructing manuscript traditions. The study highlights the ecclesiastical and political importance of these texts in shaping clerical authority and disciplinary norms across Europe. A rich bibliography and technical appendix support scholars in studying these complex and influential legal documents. Condition : very good copy. ISBN 9782503360102. Keywords : MEDIEVAL STUDIES, canon law, Kirchenrecht. N° de réf. du vendeur 303679
