Christian Wittrisch has been Programme Leader for downhole equipment since 1985 and hasbeen at IFP (now IFP Energies nouvelles) for 34 years. He holds a Master of Sciences in electronicsfrom Montpellier Science University. He joined Schlumberger Logging Services as a field loggingengineer, then IFP Energies nouvelles in Rueil Malmaison, France. His expertise is in downholeequipments, logging tools, pumps and horizontal well technologies. He is the author of severalpapers and more than 50 patents, particularly on downhole equipments, PCP and multiphasepumps, on horizontal well logging technologies such as SIMPHOR to perform logging in horizontalwells, and on hydraulic fracture mapping such as the SIMFRAC system. In 2011, he was honouredto receive the special French "Marius Lavet" inventor engineering prize.
