This superb two-volume catalogue raisonné collects the known drawings of 17th-century French painter Nicolas Poussin whose rational compositions influenced artists into the 20th century. Volume I spotlights 382 drawings and watercolor sketches by Poussin many of these are reproduced in color capturing the subtle sepia shades of the originals. Most of the drawings are also accompanied by additional views of further studies or associated works. Volume II catalogs more than 1400 additional works with thumbnail views.
