Dr. Paul Marshall is a marine biologist, coral reef manager, and communicator. He works with governments, non-government organisations, and businesses to build knowledge and capacity to improve the outlook for coral reefs everywhere. He draws on a rich experience working across science and policy relating to marine conservation and natural resource management to generate and implement innovative approaches to the biggest challenges facing coral reefs and the people who depend upon them. He has over 14 years working in technical and strategic leadership roles at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, combined with more than a decade of research experience and ongoing roles providing advice and leadership in Australia and internationally. He has authored several milestone texts, including the Reef Manager’s Guide to Coral Bleaching and Climate Change and the Great Barrier Reef: A Vulnerability Assessment.
