À la fin de sa vie, en décembre 2015, Ellsworth Kelly a fait don au Centre Pompidou de son uvre la plus célèbre, "Window, Museum of Modern Art, Paris (1949)", une construction peinte en bois et toile, qui reprend la structure et les proportions d'une fenêtre du Musée national d'art moderne de l'époque (aujourd'hui Palais de Tokyo). Mais l'artiste a également été une figure clé dans la renaissance de Cahiers d'Art. C'est donc cet éditeur qui réalise le catalogue bilingue anglais-français accompagnant l'exposition Fenêtres au Centre Pompidou (du 27 février au 27 mai 2019). Avec deux textes critiques de Jean-Pierre Criqui et Yve-Alain Bois et une cinquantaine d'oeuvres rassemblées ici pour la première fois, ce catalogue porte un nouveau regard sur un moment clé dans la carrière de l'artiste, celui où il s'ancre dans le motif.

This monograph was copublished by Cahiers dÆArt and Centre Pompidou on the occasion of the 2019 exhibition Ellsworth Kelly: Windows, which brought together, for the first time, the six Windows made by Ellsworth Kelly (1923û2015) in France between 1949 and 1950.
