Synopsis

This booklet is the result of a group work that was established with the help of Resilience and Net-Zero Energy Buildings in Chile project members. Several discussions and meetings took place in Belgium and Chile to accomplish this work. We would like to acknowledge the funding received for this project from Wallonie-Bruxelles International. Prof. Dr. Attia is an architectural and building engineer specialized in decision support for sustainable high perfromance buildings. His area of expertise is zero energy buildings and regenerative design. In 2014, he joined Liège University and established the Sustainable Buildings Design (SBD) Laboratory. The lab is focused on integrative sustainable development and research in buildings’ energy efficiency, thermal comfort, indoor environmental quality, energy simulation, rating systems, performance auditing and liability. The lab's focus is identifying and evaluating efficiency measures, performance-based building design and monitoring as a decision support methodology that uses tools and methods to set the whole building performance and life cycle.
