Marcus Sendlinger shows in this catalog COLLAGES CREATED – ON THE ROAD – WHILE TRAVELLING THROUGH EUROPE AND NORTH AMERICA IN 2016 & 2017 in connection to photos of objects and areas of inspiration. Marcus Sendlinger studied from 1992 till 1997 Painting, Drawing and Printmaking at the HfG University of Art and Design, Offenbach, State School of Fine Arts, Germany (M.F.A.) before he moved to Berlin in 1997. He is known as a painter, musician and curator of wandering exhibitions such as “Wheeling” or “Alptraum”. The large scale collage paintings, works on paper and sculptures are characterized by motifs and materials of the world of motorcycles and cars mixed with traditional painting sujets. He’s inventing new perspectives and contexts while creating rhythmic and repetitive patterns transmitting movements to the inanimate. The sculptures expand in atmospheric room installations such as Saloon (1994), Trailer (2011), Chopper Shop (2013) or Desert Drive (2014). His art works are in private and public collections and were shown e.g. at the Mannheimer Kunstverein, NKV Wiesbadener Kunstverein, UGM Maribor Art Gallery museum for contem- porary art, Columbus Art Foundation Kunsthalle Ravensburg, TAM Torrance Art Museum, CCA Andratx Collection Mallorca, RAE Space for Contemporary Art, Lentzke, KVHP Kunst- verein Heppenheim, Kunsthaus Hamburg, MAK Museum für Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt, Kunstraum Innsbruck, Pfaffenhofener Kunstverein, Autocenter Contemporary Art, Berlin, performed at Folkwang Museum, Essen, dOCUMENTA 13, Kassel, blank projects, Cape Town and many more. www.marcussendlinger.de
