Associate Professor G.A.Papagiannopoulos and Professor G.D.Hatzigeorgiou are the Directors of the MS programs on Earthquake Engineering and Construction Management, respectively, at the Hellenic Open University, Greece. Emeritus Professor D.E.Beskos is with the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Patras, Greece. He is a Member of the Academia Europaea and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. All three authors maintain research interests in Computational Mechanics, Earthquake Engineering, Analysis and Design of Steel Structures and Dynamic Soil-Structure Interaction,
