Synopsis
La plupart des ingénieurs d'antennes sont susceptibles de croire que les antennes sont une technologie qui est plus ou moins imperméable à l'industrie des semi-conducteurs qui progresse rapidement. Cependant, comme démontré dans cette conférence, il existe un moyen d'incorporer des composants actifs dans une antenne et de la transformer en un nouveau type de structure rayonnante qui peut tirer parti des dernières avancées en matière de conception de circuits analogiques. L'approche pour effectuer cette transformation est d'utiliser des éléments de circuit non Foster dans le réseau d'adaptation de l'antenne. Ce faisant, nous ne sommes plus contraints par les lois de la physique qui s'appliquent aux antennes passives. Cependant, nous devons maintenant concevoir et construire des circuits actifs très délicats. Cette nouvelle technologie d'antenne en est à ses balbutiements. Les contributions de cette conférence sont (1) de résumer l'état actuel de l'art dans ce sujet, et (2) d'introduire de nouveaux outils théoriques et pratiques pour nous aider à poursuivre l'avancement de cette technologie.
