This book aims to present "step by step" possibilities for applying laparoscopy in trauma scenarios, even in low-resource conditions, to offer patient safety and evidence-based best practice. Due to the lack of clinical publications evolving trauma (mainly trauma laparoscopy) - based on the difficulty of standardizing patients - the knowledge of trauma laparoscopy spreads slowly. This work intends to share techniques and competences based on publications and the personal experience from experts around the world, describing possibilities in different conditions, illustrated by clinical cases and photos. Chapters cover research in trauma laparoscopy, why laparoscopy is important in selected patients, indications, how to train and teamwork, diagnostic laparoscopy, and therapeutic laparoscopy. These topics comprise abdominal, pelvic, and thoracic laparoscopy in a standard patient and addresses the particularities of specific population (obese and pediatric patients). Anesthesiology is also covered in a chapter on multidisciplinary trauma care. Minimally Invasive Surgery Trauma - Laparoscopic and Robotic Approach will benefit students, residents, general and trauma surgeons, and surgeons of all surgical specialties.
