Synopsis
Fondé à Singapour en 2010, le Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) est une plateforme de recherche internationale de premier plan dédiée aux études sur lurbanisation. Comptant plus de 150 chercheurs basés à Singapour et à Zurich, le FCL intègre des perspectives académiques, professionnelles et culturelles pour relever les défis des villes de demain. Cette publication présente la recherche interdisciplinaire du FCL sur le développement urbain durable et montre comment ces connaissances sont traduites en résultats concrets pour soutenir les décideurs et les institutions publiques dans la promotion dune transformation urbaine durable.

À propos des auteurs
SACHA MENZ is Professor for Architecture and Building Process at ETH Zurich and a practicing architect. He is the founder of sam architects in Zurich. At ETH, he served as dean of the Department of Architecture and co-founded and led the Institute of Technology in Architecture for over ten years, where he designed and coordinated the Arch_Tec_Lab building, the institute’s new home. Since 2012 Sacha Menz is actively involved in the Future Cities Laboratory research programme and since 2020 he has been shaping and leading the Future Cities Laboratory Global as Executive Director.
MICHÈLE RÜEGG HORMES is an architect. She holds a master’s degree from ETH Zurich and a postgraduate degree in architectural theory and history from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She was Head of Communications at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich. Since 2018, she has been involved in local politics, promoting sustainable urban development. In 2022, she joined Future Cities Laboratory Global as Associate Director for Communications, and is responsible for transferring knowledge from research to the professional community and the public.
