Synopsis
Nouvelle édition pour ce classique rapidement épuisé. Le Vitra Design Museum présente une exposition (20/02 - 31/05/2015) qui retrace la naissance d'une architecture expérimentale et futuriste en Afrique dans les années 60 après les vagues d'accession à l'indépendance de plusieurs pays. Ces architectures étaient une manière pour ces jeunes nations d'exprimer leur identité nationale. Plus de 50 bâtiments de pays comme le Kenya, la Côte d'Ivoire, la Zambie, le Ghana et le Sénégal sont présentés à travers de nombreux plans et des photographies d'Iwan Baan.

À propos de l'auteur
Manuel Herz runs his own design and urban planning studio in Basel and Cologne. He is an assistant professor at the University of Basel.
Ingrid Schröder is an architect and director of the MPhil program in Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Cambridge. She was appointed director of the Architectural Association’s School of Architecture in London in May 2022 and will assume that position in August 2022.
Hans Focketyn runs his own architecture firm in Basel and teaches as a professor at Bern University of Applied Sciences’ School of Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering in Burgdorf, Switzerland.
Julia Jamrozik is an architect and assistant professor at the University of Buffalo’s School of Architecture in Buffalo, NY.
