Synopsis
This is the first-ever bilingual edition of the complete Latin Vulgate with German translation. As the most widely disseminated vernacular Latin translation of the Bible since late antiquity, the Vulgate is considered a central work of European humanistic and theological history. Its divergence from the original in some parts lends insight to Christian theology of late antiquity, the medieval period, and the early modern period.
