Synopsis
This text describes basic and clinical aspects of perimetry, ie. visual field testing - principles of manual and automated perimetry, different types of equipment currently available and testing strategies are covered. Clinical correlations are demonstrated for all diseases for which perimetry is an essential diagnostic tool - glaucoma, retinal diseases, diseases of the optic nerve, the vision chiasm and suprachiasmal pathway, and psychogenic disturbances. Aspects of drivers' assessment are also discussed. The book provides a current view of the state of the art of perimetry in clinic and practice, and supports the ophthalmologist and neurologist in performing visual field testing and interpretation.
