This first of its kind text enables today's students to understand current and future energy challenges, to acquire skills for selecting and using materials and manufacturing processes in the design of energy systems, and to develop a cross-functional approach to materials, mechanics, electronics and processes of energy production. Colin Tong is a materials expert with considerable professional experience in the past two decades. He received his PhD from Tsinghua University, and has been a researcher at the University of Michigan and at Arizona State University. Dr. Tong has published three books, over 30 peer-reviewed articles, and he holds 7 patents.
