Synopsis

Software testing is performed through the development cycle of software and aims to build a quality software product. There are many approaches to software testing but effective testing of complex product is essentially a process of investigation, not nearly a matter of creating a following route procedure. It is often impossible to find out all the bugs or errors in the program, this fundamental problem in testing thus throws open question as to what would be the strategy that we should adopt for testing. We have described various software testing techniques for finding and fixing of bugs. Thus the selection of right strategy at the right time will make the software testing efficient and effective. There are many different types of testing methods or techniques used as part of the software testing methodology. Such as-White box testing, Black box testing & Grey box testing.

Mohd. Ehmer Khan, MCA, Ph.D. (CS), is Academic Coordinator/Lecturer, Department of Information Technology, Al Musanna College of Technology, Oman. He has vast teaching and administrative experience spread (17+ years) over to several Indian and foreign institutions. His specialized subjects are software engineering, system analysis & design and MIS.
