Synopsis

Many type of wheelchair designs are fabricated and used by amputees such as crawl type, hybrid type, powered, wheel type, leg type, manually operated. Step climbing wheelchair is most useful device for legs disabled persons with various distinguishing features to carry most of activities as normal person does. There are two proposed designs of step climbing wheelchairs. The first proposed design comprises 4 modules. First module is the normal wheelchair module in which chassis is joined to the front and rear wheelchair to do normal functions as the most common wheelchair does. In the second proposed wheelchair design the ascending and descending of wheelchair is performed by working of two different kind mechanisms. There are total 3 modules. The rear mechanism is almost similar to the rear mechanism used in design 1 provides the lift by pushing the wheelchair rear section up to the step height but front lifting mechanism is altered to ascend the step with pulling action.
