Usage of phase change materials (PCMs) is one of the ways used for effective thermal energy storage (TES). The solid-liquid PCMs show seepage behavior during the phase change from solid to liquid. This problem causes some additional problems such as weight loss in PCM, efficiency lost in TES and environmental pollution. The way of solving is encapsulation of the PCMs in a storage container. However, this solution way leads to an increase in cost of TES system as well as coming across the possible problems such as the formation of thermal resistance between storage container and PCM, corrosion effect, loss in energy storage efficiency. Micro or nano encapsulation is very effective technique because of no including these drawbacks as well as providing several advantages. With this regard, this book is focused on the micro/nano encapsulation of fatty acid eutectics with polystyrene shell. The synthesized thirty different encapsulated PCMs have high practice TES potential for thermal regulation of buildings, textile products, food containers, electronic and medicinal equipments etc. Additionally, this book presents realistic results for the researchers who deal with TES using PCMs

Ahmet Sarı received his PhD degree in Physical Chemistry area and is working in KTU, Metallurgical and Material Engineering in Trabzon/Turkey. He is heavily working on thermal energy storage by PCMs. He published 146 articles in high influenced journals. He was involved in "Highly Cited Researcher" list published in 2016 by Thomson Reuters.
