Synopsis

The study will be helpful to scrutinize the impact of different GO-NGOs support on crop intensification, income generation and poverty reduction and open a new horizon to uplift the society of the farmers in the study area. Therefore, the present study makes substantial contribution to the literature in this field. The key objectives of the present study is involving sustainable intensification of crop production and location-specific attempts on crop intensification to the char vulnerable farmers of Bangladesh. They aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in food grains production in a sustainable manner by improving the productivity on a short and medium term basis. The government is also implementing programmes to promote crop intensification involving high-value crops, fruits and vegetables, potatoes, oilseeds, pulses and spices through appropriate packages of seed-fertilizer-irrigation technologies, This is expected to increase employment, rural income and improve nutritional standards as well as food security.
