Synopsis
La stimulation nerveuse électrique transcutanée (TENS) est une méthode non pharmacologique largement utilisée par les professionnels médicaux et paramédicaux pour la gestion de la douleur aiguë et chronique dans une variété de conditions. De même, il peut être utilisé pour la gestion de la douleur lors de diverses procédures dentaires ainsi que de la douleur due à diverses conditions affectant la région maxillo-faciale. Ce livre vise à fournir un aperçu des preuves de recherche clinique disponibles pour les utilisations analgésiques et non analgésiques du TENS chez les patients pédiatriques et adultes liés au domaine de la dentisterie. En outre, une tentative est faite pour discuter brièvement de l'histoire de l'électricité thérapeutique, du mécanisme d'action des TENS, des composants des équipements TEN, des types, des techniques d'administration, des avantages et des contradictions des TENS.
