Synopsis

This book describes the development of a CAM system for the NC machining of triangulated sculptured surfaces in STL (stereo lithography) format using a generalized cutter. Three types of tool path generation algorithms for the machining of STL model, z-map tool path, z-constant contour tool path, and contour-parallel tool path, are included here. The last chapter discusses about the tool path error models that can used for tool path interference detection and raw tool path planning.

Biographie de l'auteur

Chen-Ming Chuang is an Associate Professor in the Department of ME at Nan-Jeon University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He received a PhD degree in ME from National Chung-Cheng University, Taiwan. His current research interests are in the area of CAD/CAM, RE, AM, and machine design.
