Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2021 in the subject American Studies - Culture and Applied Geography, grade: 1,3, University of Dundee (Humanities), course: Contemporary America in Context, language: English, abstract: White and Minority Gangs are perceived differently in the world and portrayed differently in media and the news. Both are mostly portrayed as violent, but White Gangs often get portrayed as antiheroes with redeeming qualities, such as giving back to the community or protecting children. Such redeeming qualities get left out when Black Gangs are shown. This paper examines the question if White Gang Privilege as a concept exists.
