Synopsis

According to the journal "Germanistik" the bibliography is the most comprehensive and reliable specialist bibliography on German literature from the German Enlightenment to the Romantic period. It records about 5,000 publications annually, in German and foreign languages: monographs, contributions in collections and journals, university publications, commemorative volumes and sound recordings. The material is clearly arranged and easy to use, consisting of three sections: a section on collections of texts and general publications, an alphabetically arranged section on publications by and on individual authors, and a review section arranged alphabetically according to the work reviewed. A combined index of names and subjects completes the bibliography. For the authors of the German Classical Age included here, both primary and secondary literature has been recorded.
