À propos de l?auteur
Lucja Piekarska - Duraj is a social anthropologist studying social memory and identity, with her special area of interest being museums. Her professional experience includes various collaborations with museums and other heritage institutions, making her a keen heritage interpreter and analyst. She is affiliated with the Jagiellonian University, where she teaches and conducts research on a range of heritage, memory and identity topics.

In order to conduct a comprehensive interpretation of meaning making processes, an analytical framework is presented and applied which allows the diversity of heritage Europeanization to be grasped. The volume reflects on the current phenomena of museums revealing their connections with values such as progress, utility, diversity, dignity, social inclusion, narrativ-ity and democratic governance. The composition of the study reflects all of these elements, while museums are mainly regarded as institutions of public service, playing a significant role in collective identity formation.
