Although simulation provides a promising solution to construction planning, the complexity and time requirement involved in constructing a simulation model along with the difficulty in decoding simulation output data keep practicing engineers from employing simulation tools in practice. This book introduces you an innovative construction operations simulation called Simplified Discrete-Event Simulation Approach (SDESA), which provide you an accurate simulation tool with minimum learning and modeling effort. Furthermore, the Artificial Neural Networks-based sensitivity analysis is integrated to it to perform instant data mining and knowledge discovery from the construction simulations result data. By implementing the simplified, intelligent construction simulation method as developed, practicing engineers would be capable and confident to draw up the best construction plan that would lead to the enhancement of cost-effectiveness and productivity in the field.
