Synopsis

This book addresses some of the most controversial and hotly debated topics in evolutionary studies, Whole Genome Duplications and Random Breakage Model of chromosome evolution, that give raise to the challenging combinatorial problems of Genome Halving and Breakpoint Re-Use analysis. These problems are analyzed within a powerful framework of multi-break rearrangements that leads to efficient algorithmic solutions.
