This action research studies the International Masters Program in Practicing Management (IMPM) as a cross-cultural management learning program. According to literature review findings, while "refraction" can be conceptualized as critical, cross-cultural and creative "reflection", "ma" can be conceptualized as time-space boundary that allows boundary-crossings and complements knowledge-sharing and bond-building in "ba". These literature review findings are supported by findings from the analysis about IMPM, as a result of which, the program is not only understood as a reflective ba but also suggested as a refractive ma. These findings and suggestions also contribute to development of EMMA (Encountering > Miscommunicating > Misunderstanding > Asking for refraction) and ECUI (Empathizing > Communicating > Understanding > Inquiring for reflection) spirals that initiate a cross-cultural knowledge-creating spiral as in a Nautilus shell. To sum up, cross-cultural knowledge management requests learning and practicing not only to reflect but also to refract - as frequent, cross-cultural, critical and co-incidental questionings for diverse cultural reality.
