Synopsis

In this book an iterative receiver using turbo equalization techniques, channel estimation, and noise variance estimation for fast fading channels is developed. For bit decisions loglikelihood ratios are used, which are updated at each iteration step to increase the reliability of the decision. This was implemented and simulated for the single transmit single receive antenna case (SISO). As target velocity between transmitter and receiver the highspeed scenario from the LTE standard with 350 km/h was chosen. In the simulation results the influence of each component in the receiver is shown and discussed. Furthermore an expansion to the two transmit- and one receive antenna case for transmit diversity was done. This book is written for scientists and technicians.
