Synopsis

This research was designed to study the development of library facilities at IIUI from 1980 to 2008.Major objectives of the study were: to examine the historical development of IIUI library resources; to find out the available physical and technical resources at IIUI Central library; to suggest some workable recommendations for the improvement of library. It was documentation by the use of accession registers of IIUI library, thesis register, membership registers, IT files lists and budget guide line books of IIUI Central library. A survey was conducted through the questionnaire and interviews from the students and library staff to investigate the utilization of library resources. The respondents of the questionnaire were the students of IIUI.200 students comprised target population sample. The study led to the findings that successions of progressive changes have been brought about in the development of the Central library of IIU.
