Synopsis

One of the major objectives of microfinance institutions is poverty alleviation. The achievement of this objective greatly depends upon the financial and operational performance of the institution. This study entitled "Financial and Operational Performance Analysis" circulates around the key issues of the financial and operational performance trend of ADCSI (Addis Credit and Saving Institution Share Company) from asset and liability management, efficiency and productivity, sustainability and profitability and outreach dimensions.Thus, the major objective of the study is to analyze the financial and operational performance of ADCSI (Addis Credit and Saving Institution). The data used in the study is mainly secondary and was obtained from the institution's audited financial statements and operational reports. In order to analyze the financial and operational performance trend of the institution five years data from 2005 to 2009 was used. Data analysis was performed using various widely accepted ratios and descriptive statistical tools.

Biographie de l'auteur

Mr. Yohannes Negash is lecturer at University of Gondar, Department of Tourism Management and actively involved in various research and project activities initiated by the department. His formal education includes B.A. in Tourism management from University of Gondar and MBA in Finance from Mekelle University.
